Monthly Newsletter - 9th November 2011

Gents,

Firstly a merry Christmas to all of our Members from our Leader, Adrian and also our Winter Organiser, Chris. Both have done a great job again in 2011.

 

S and A was in great condition and the weather was changeable but overall we kept dry. Delighted to welcome Steve Carman ex Bank and now a Civil Servant. May shortly be known as Two Pensions Carman. He walked away with the guest prize which was probably a hat.

 

Nearest the pin winners were, I think John Parker, Bob Ward, Simon Walker and Alan Johnson. None of the Par 3s were straightforward so their efforts were even more commendable. Only Simon Walker managed a 2 on the 13th hole. In the main competition, sponsored by one of your 2012 Captains Alan Johnson, Kevin Shannon managed to win with 37 points, with Bob Ward coming second on 32 just beating John Parker and Stuart Heywood on card play offs. Mr Niblick has already adjusted handicaps. Chris March, Adrian W, Adrian J and Ed Crewdson will all receive shots back courtesy of Mr Niblicks largesse.

 

Being our Christmas comp, we all sat down afterwards to  fabulous festive fare  S and A again coming up trumps. Furthermore we were delighted to be welcomed by the current Captain of S and A to round off a wonderful day out. Can't wait until next year.

 

NEXT COMPETITION

Our next meeting will be on 18th January at a balmy St Annes Old Links, at least according to Winter Captain, Paul Pendergest so bring your shorts to what should be another well organised and weather friendly day out on the Fylde coast. It will be a great work out after your Christmas indulgences so book now whilst there are places available.
